Did someone say, "Where is Beaver?"
Like many rural towns in central and southern Utah, Beaver often goes unnoticed as travelers whiz by along Interstate 15, going either North toward Salt Lake City or South toward Zions Park, St. George, and Las Vegas. However, the next time you're passing by, stop and discover the grandeur of the area. Beaver City sits on the northern edge of Utah's spectacular Color Country. The city is located 200 miles south of Salt Lake City and 210 miles north of Las Vegas. If you haven't guessed by the picture above, the area is packed to the borders with outdoor wonders. The region truly has something for everyone. It is the perfect year-round destination retreat for families and outdoor enthusiasts who are tired of fighting the crowds. A short distance to the West, you can go fishing and boating on the Minersville Reservoir, a State Recreation Area. Or, do a bit of rockhounding and hiking in the desert area. To the East are the Tushar Mountains where visitors and residents alike are inspired by beautiful vistas, high mountain lakes and clear, sparkling streams. Just about every outdoor activity awaits you. If you like fishing and hunting, the Beaver area is famous. Why not make Beaver your destination to do some backpacking, mountain biking, or horse back riding? Maybe you are looking for the ultimate ATV adventure. The world-famous 230-mile Paiute Trail takes riders right through much of the area. Then, of course, the Beaver mountains are a great Winter wonderland to experience unforgettable snowmobiling, Nordic skiing, and Alpine skiing. All in all, the scenic panoramas will keep you mesmerized the entire time you're with us in Beaver City.
